A New Season

As we are beginning to get a small taste of Spring here in Illinois (a very small taste), I find myself reflecting on not only the changing of the seasons from winter to spring, but also the new season that awaits Jeff and I. Each day I find myself more anxious for what lies ahead. What does God have in store? How can I prepare? What adventures await? Time will only tell. As I was telling a good friend tonight, the adventures have already begun. Who would have thought that Jeff and I would begin a blog? Still to this day I think the word "blog" is just silly, but nonetheless, here I am and I am excited to discover if this new creative outlet is for me. It may be a slow and painful beginning, so you will have to bear with me.

Anticipating Aberdeen

Although my entrance into blogging has been slow (to say the least), the Lord has provided Allison and I with a further need to develop our blogging prowess. In the near future we will be completing our time at Trinity and, after a whirlwind reunion tour of Nebraska, will be flying across the "pond" to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.

We hope to use this blog as another avenue of communication with our family and friends as we follow the Lord's calling to Scotland. The blog, therefore, will serve the threefold purpose of communicatory device, memory repository, and (hopefully) a place of theological discussion. So, whether you find yourself in the category of friend or family, we hope that we will be able to share a little bit of our life with you and take a little piece of you with us to the Northeast coast of the UK.

Allison and I will be sharing blogging duties over the course of our last few weeks in Illinois, our few months in the home state of Arbor Day, and throughout our extended journey in Aberdeen so be sure to check back. If you find yourself visiting us frequently feel free to send along your e-mail address and we will update you via the blog when we upload a new post.
